Your donations made a difference!
The donations raised by Team Angela have been used to make the house safer and more accessible. Some of the improvements:
- Wheelchair ramps at the front door, deck, and garage (both front and back)
- A “no curb” shower enclosure: the bathroom floor slopes into the shower without a threshold.
- Handheld shower wand in the master bath, with second control
- Grab bars in the baths
- Special accessible sink installations in the bathrooms
- A rolling shower-access chair (better than crutches on wet tile!)
- Public access thresholds at exterior doors
- Outward-swinging French doors for access to the deck
- Basic lighting control, to prevent a trip around the house to turn lights on and off
- A laundry room big enough to accommodate a wheelchair. Angela can’t wait to do laundry again!
- A garage wide enough to accommodate an interior wheelchair ramp
- Exterior fill and special grading to give her flat, easy-to-navigate access in the yard
The Team Angela patio bricks have been ordered and everyone who donated will have a brick in their name.
- All of the improvements you helped to make possible will make Angela’s life better and safer every single day. So many people have asked “What can I do to help?” and Team Angela has given us the answer.
